RideSenior would like to extend our sincere apologies to our customers, families, caregivers, and RideSenior Pros who were affected by a system disruption that occurred on September 13 and September 14, 2026. During this period, an issue within our booking notification and coordination process prevented some booking information from being delivered to our operations team and RideSenior Pros as quickly as intended. Although customer booking requests continued to enter and be recorded in the RideSenior system, some notifications associated with those requests were delayed, which in turn affected our ability to coordinate transportation and respond to customers within our normal timeframe. We understand the inconvenience and uncertainty that this may have caused, particularly for customers who were arranging transportation for medical appointments, hospital discharges, care home visits, or other important trips, and we sincerely apologize.

The issue primarily affected the communication and notification process that takes place after a customer submits and confirms a transportation request. RideSenior is designed to connect a customer’s request with available RideSenior Pros serving the appropriate area. Timely notification is an essential part of that process because a RideSenior Pro needs enough notice to review the trip information, check their schedule, consider the pickup and return times when applicable, and confirm whether they are available to provide the transportation. During the disruption on September 13 and 14, some of these notifications were not delivered at the expected time. In several cases, RideSenior Pros received information about a trip much later than they normally would, leaving insufficient time to reorganize their schedules and accept the booking.
This also affected some of our customers. Because our operations team relies on booking notifications to begin checking RideSenior Pro availability, a delayed notification can mean that a booking request remains in the system before our team becomes aware that immediate coordination is required. Some customers therefore experienced longer-than-normal response times while waiting for us to confirm whether a RideSenior Pro was available. We recognize that this is not the experience our customers expect from RideSenior, and it does not meet the standard of communication we are working to provide.
Transportation for seniors is particularly sensitive to timing. A ride to a medical appointment cannot always simply be moved to another hour or another day. A hospital discharge may depend on transportation being available at a particular time. A family member or caregiver may have arranged their own schedule around a pickup, while a senior may already be preparing for an appointment or waiting at a hospital entrance. For these reasons, we understand that a notification delay is more than a technical inconvenience. It can create uncertainty for the customer, their family, healthcare staff, caregivers, and the RideSenior Pro who may otherwise have been available to provide the trip if sufficient notice had been given.

We also want to apologize directly to our RideSenior Pros. Many of our Pros organize their availability around other professional and personal responsibilities, and providing adequate advance notice is important. During the disruption, some Pros received ride opportunities on the same day as the scheduled trip, and in certain situations the notification arrived too close to, or even after, the scheduled pickup time. This understandably made it impossible for some Pros to accept trips they otherwise would have been interested in completing. We appreciate the partners who contacted us to explain what they experienced, and their feedback helped us better understand how the notification problem was affecting the network in practice.
Our technical and operations teams investigated the issue after identifying the unusual notification delays. The focus was not only on restoring the immediate notification process but also on strengthening the safeguards around it. A transportation booking should not depend on a single notification successfully reaching one inbox at one moment. A booking can be properly stored in the system while an email notification encounters a separate delivery or processing problem, which is why additional monitoring and verification are important. Our work has therefore focused on making the notification process more reliable and making it easier for our team to identify a booking that requires attention even if the initial notification does not behave as expected.
We are pleased to confirm that the system issue affecting these booking and RideSenior Pro notifications was fully resolved by midday on September 15, 2026. Following the correction, we have continued monitoring the booking process and notification flow to make sure new customer requests are being handled properly. Additional internal checks have also been introduced to help our team identify potential notification failures rather than relying solely on the assumption that an email was successfully delivered.
The improvements are intended to provide an additional layer of protection for future bookings. When a customer confirms that they genuinely want to proceed with a transportation request, RideSenior needs to know that the request requires operational attention. From there, the appropriate RideSenior Pros need to receive the opportunity as early as reasonably possible so they can determine their availability. By strengthening monitoring around this process, our objective is to reduce the chance that a valid customer booking remains unnoticed because of a notification problem.
For RideSenior Pros, this means we are working toward a more consistent process in which trip opportunities are communicated promptly after a customer confirms a request within the Pro’s service area. Whenever a booking is made sufficiently in advance, earlier notification should provide Pros with more time to organize their schedules and decide whether they can accept the trip. There will naturally continue to be occasions when customers submit urgent or same-day transportation requests, and those requests may provide less advance notice by their nature. However, a system delay should not unnecessarily reduce the amount of time available to a Pro when the customer originally submitted the booking earlier.
For customers, the correction means our team should be able to begin checking RideSenior Pro availability sooner after receiving a confirmed transportation request. It is important to note that submitting or confirming a booking request does not itself guarantee that a RideSenior Pro has already been assigned. Availability still needs to be checked, particularly in cities or regions where the number of active RideSenior Pros may currently be limited. What we are committed to improving is the speed and reliability with which that availability process begins and the communication customers receive while their request is being coordinated.
RideSenior is continuing to grow its network across different communities, and reliable technology is an important part of supporting that growth. Our service involves several participants who need accurate information at the appropriate time: the customer requesting transportation, family members or caregivers who may be coordinating the trip, our operations team, and the RideSenior Pro who ultimately provides the service. When transportation involves a hospital, medical facility, retirement residence, or care home, staff at those locations may also depend on timely pickup information. The notification system therefore plays an important role in connecting all of these moving parts.
The disruption on September 13 and 14 has also reinforced the importance of maintaining human oversight alongside automated technology. Automation allows RideSenior to process bookings, organize trip details, communicate opportunities, and support a growing transportation network, but our responsibility does not end when the system records a booking or attempts to send an email. We need mechanisms that allow our team to verify that important operational communications are actually taking place and to identify exceptions when they do not. The changes made following this incident are part of that broader approach.
We want to thank the RideSenior Pros who remained patient with us during the disruption and who took the time to report delayed notifications. We especially appreciate hearing from Pros who explained that they wanted to accept more rides but simply needed earlier notice to arrange their schedules. That willingness to serve seniors and support customers is extremely valuable to our network. Our goal is to give our Pros the information they need with enough time to make realistic decisions about their availability rather than placing them in a situation where a trip opportunity arrives too late to be reasonably accepted.
We are equally grateful to the customers and families who waited for responses during the affected period. We recognize that when someone submits a transportation request, especially for an upcoming medical appointment or hospital-related trip, waiting without knowing whether a driver can be arranged can be stressful and inconvenient. We sincerely regret that some customers experienced this uncertainty because of our system issue.
To everyone affected on September 13 and 14, we respectfully ask for your understanding and sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused by this disruption. The issue was not caused by customers or RideSenior Pros, and we appreciate the patience shown by both groups while our team investigated and corrected the problem. The technical issue was fully resolved by midday on September 15, 2026, and we are continuing to monitor the system closely following the fix.
RideSenior remains committed to building a dependable senior transportation network centered on safety, communication, accessibility, and respect. Technology helps us coordinate that network, but trust is built through how we respond when something does not work as intended. When an issue occurs, our responsibility is to identify it, communicate openly, correct it, learn from it, and strengthen the system so that we can provide a better experience going forward.
We know that customers depend on RideSenior for more than simply getting from one address to another. A transportation request may represent access to healthcare, a safe return home from hospital, an important appointment, a visit with family, or the ability to maintain greater independence. At the same time, RideSenior Pros depend on accurate and timely information so they can provide these services responsibly. Supporting both sides of this relationship requires reliable coordination, and we take that responsibility seriously.
As we move forward from this incident, our focus is on making sure future booking requests are identified promptly, RideSenior Pro opportunities are communicated as early as possible, and our operations team has better visibility when a notification does not perform as expected. The improvements implemented following the September 13–14 disruption are an important step toward that goal, and we will continue reviewing our processes as the RideSenior network grows.
Once again, RideSenior sincerely apologizes to all customers, families, caregivers, and RideSenior Pros affected by the booking and notification delays on September 13 and 14, 2026. The system issue was fully corrected by midday on September 15, and normal booking notification operations have been restored. We greatly appreciate your patience, understanding, feedback, and continued support.
Thank you for placing your trust in RideSenior and for giving us the opportunity to improve. We look forward to continuing to serve seniors, families, and communities with a stronger and more reliable transportation experience.
